Like many entrepreneurial ventures, Gingi-Pak began around a kitchen table.

In 1950, founders Trudy and Dale Bell, along with a chemist friend, conceived of the breakthrough idea of impregnating cotton cord with epinephrine. With that innovative thought, plus a lot of painstaking work, an entirely new class of product was born—the dry pack.

After four years of product development, The Belport Co., Inc, was founded with the introduction of Orostat®, a synthetic epinephrine solution specially formulated for use in dentistry. The following year we introduced Gingi-Pak Retraction Cord, the first impregnated dry-pack cord for the dental profession, ushering in a new era of faster, easier, more convenient, more effective gingival retraction

The Gingi-Pak division was created two decades later as the worldwide marketing and distribution arm of The Belport Co. For more than a half-century, the company has continued to build on a foundation of product innovation and enhancement.

We've developed a broad line of state-of-the-art retraction materials and tissue management products, ranging from cord and instruments to Cohere® Bonding Hyrdrocolloid to Gingicaine® Topical Anesthetics.

We developed the exclusive Kutter Kap® to make using retraction cord faster, easier and safer for both practitioner and patient.

And along the way we earned a reputation as, "the experts in soft tissue management."

Today, The Belport Co. remains that increasing rarity in international business, a family-owned company with hands-on management, a tradition of quality and a vision for the future.

We design our own instruments. We manufacture virtually all of our products in-house. We manufacture all our retraction cord to the highest standards, using the finest materials—100% cotton. And we go the extra mile, such as hand-impregnating our cord to assure consistent delivery of a uniform dosage of medication per inch of cord.

Our quality system is ISO 9001:2008 registered. Our products are FDA-approved as well as being CE certified. Monitoring the integrity of every one our products is our number one job every day
